The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed dustwrapper that has a single tiny closed tear to the upper rear spine fold (previously secured with a piece of tape to the underside, no longer present) and is otherwise bright and without loss. It follows the British MI6 agent on a mission to Jamaica where he encounters the eponymous villain, Dr. Julius No, who is plotting to sabotage an American space launch with the help of his criminal organization.

The first edition can be identified by its plain covers, the lack of a dust jacket, and with the publisher Jonathan Cape. It also mentions 'First Published 1958' on the copyright page.
