Large octavo, 771pp., illustrated with a tipped-in color print of the titular painting (which figures significantly in the book's narrative). This is copy J of just 26 limited lettered copies SIGNED by Tartt on the limitation page, and bound in printed boards with green cloth spine, titled in gilt. About fine, with a very thin, shallow area of rough cutting at the fore-edge, likely done by the machine that trimmed the edges; not at all offensive. A clear mylar cover is present, which we suspect was supplied later. By far the smallest limitation we have seen for this title; we know of two other signed limited editions, neither of which was numbered, but were unquestionably issued in much higher quantities. Winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize. Necessarily rare; untraced at auction. Certainly the most exclusive edition of this international bestseller.
