First edition, first impression. This is the only Bond book to be written in the first person, presented as the testimony of a 23-year-old Canadian woman with whom Bond has an ill-fated affair. To further this pretence, Vivienne Michel gets a spurious credit on the title page as co-author. A film adaptation was produced in 1977 starring Roger Moore.
Octavo. Original dark grey boards, spine lettered in silver, dagger design stamped on front cover in silver and blind, red endpapers. With dust jacket.
Double-page illustration at pp. 6-7.
Slight wear to spine ends, short split at head of front joint, remaining firm, foxing to edges, text clean; bright jacket with light spots of foxing, small abrasion on spine, price-clipped: a very good copy in like jacket.
