eighth, sixth, and fifth impressions respectively, folding map printed in red and black tipped-in at rear of each volume, pp. 423; 352; 416, 8vo, original red cloth, backstrips lettered in gilt, top edges red, a little rubbing to extremities of cloth, faint partial browning to free endpapers of third volume, first volume with handling-mark to leading edge of flyleaf, the dustjackets a little chipped with some light spots or marks, bacsktrips browned uniformly, that to first volume with 'Ninth Impression' at head of front flap (likely as issued) and split at lower joint-fold, very good condition overall. A set of later, but roughly contemporary, printings of the first edition.
