First Edition thus. "Special Holiday Edition October, 1925" on copyright page. (The first edition was 1924). Original paper-covered boards (with Ernest H. Shepard illustrations), over red cloth spine. The paper covered boards are in excellent condition, fine and bright, bottom corners slightly bumped. In RARE dust jacket which duplicates the Shepard illustrations from the boards. Illustrated endpapers, contents clean and well preserved. Neat gift inscription on the page following the half-title. The jacket can be described as very good plus with a few closed tears, but no clipping to flaps. A fragile books which has survived well because of the rare jacket. Jacker in archival protector, book housed in a custom-made slip-case. We could find no other copies available in dust jacket. Truly scarce thus.

When We Were Very Young is a best-selling book of poetry by A. A. Milne. It is the first volume of verse written for children, for which Milne is most widely known. The book is filled with verses that reflect a playful innocence that has been enjoyed by both young and adult readers.
