The story of Max, King of the Wild Things, continues on in this wonderful book. In fine unread condition in a fine dustjacket. While the true 25th Anniversary Edition was issued by Harper & Row in 1988 before it became HarperCollins in 1990, HarperCollins then reissued this later edition using the new engravings made from the original art in 1988 and the 25th Anniversary format. This edition features a copyright renewal date of 1991 on the copyright page along with "First Harper Trophy edition, 1984," "25th Anniversary Edition" and "HarperCollinsPublishers" is in lower case and partially in italics. Where the Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's picture book by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak, originally published by Harper & Row. The book has been adapted into other media several times, including an animated short in 1973 (with an updated version in 1988), a 1980 opera, and a live-action 2009 feature-film adaptation. The book tells the story of Max, a young boy who dresses up as a wolf and uses his imagination to travel to a wild forest where he meets creatures called Wild Things.
