A Very Good or better copy in medium silvery-grey cloth stamped in silver, dark top stain, in a Good dustwrapper, fading to spine panel, light wear to spine-ends, with one quarter inch chip from heel. 310pp. with photographic illustrations. "A Rose Is a Rose is a Rose" in round on the front cover. This copy is INSCRIBED by Stein on the free front endpaper "for [_____ _____] Gertrude Stein January 12 193?". The inscribee (in Stein's hand) is indecipherable. Inscribed copies by Stein are uncommon since she lived in France. Scarce. Q20940.
