Illustrated throughout from photogravures, and each volume with a fine frontispiece. Three-quarter brown morocco over marbled paper-covered boards, top edges gilt, others uncut and partially unopened. A few volumes with headcaps professionally restored. One volume with darkening to spine raised bands and a couple of spots to other spines, but in all a very good, attractive set, beautifully bound.

Comedies, Histories & Tragedies is a collection of William Shakespeare's plays, published in the First Folio in 1623, seven years after his death. Compiled by his colleagues John Heminges and Henry Condell, it is considered one of the most influential books ever published in the English language.
