Description

A handsome plan of the City of London Wards of Candlewick and Langborn. Surrounding the plan are vignettes of local churches and the decorative Arms of Sir Joseph Hankey Alderman of Langborn Ward and Sir Charles Asgill, an Alderman of Candlewick Ward (1749-1771) a Master of the Skinners Company (1749), a Governor of Bridewell Royal Hospital (1743-1750), Sheriff of the City of London (1753) and Lord Mayor of London (1757-1758). The major thoroughfares engraved are: Lombard, Fenchurch, Cannon, Fish and Gracechurch Streets. Published in 'A Survey of the Cities of London and Westminster'. Size: 410 x 520 mm. Copperplate engraving with hand colour. Good condition, folds as issued, some age toning.
