A lovely map of North America, by the Frenchman Louis Brion, featuring an elegant and decorative "framed" border. The map highlights the east coast settlements made by England. Vast swathes of America, west of the Mississippi River lie undiscovered. Published in the Atlas General Civil et Ecclesiastique. Size: 290 x 380 mm. Copperplate engraving with original wash colour. Good condition. Slight foxing, central fold as issued.
