Edition of 150. Initialled in pencil lower right by Warhol, publisher's stamp and number to verso. One of two Ladies and Gentlemen printed before the portfolio of ten screenprints. To create the Ladies and Gentlemen series, Warhol took over 500 Polaroid photographs of 14 different Black and Latinx drag queens and trans-women recruited by his friends, many were from the Gilded Grape, a bar on Manhattan's 8th Avenue. The names discovered by the Warhol Foundation in 2014 are an official list of 13 of the 14 models: Alphanso Panell, Broadway, Easha McCleary, Helen/Harry Morales, Iris, Ivette, Kim, Lurdes, Marsha P. Johnson, Michele Long, Monique, Vicki Peters and Wilhelmina Ross.
