Janvier was a Parisian geographer and cartographer who worked closely with a number of contemporaries, including Nolin and Jean Lattre. This is his attractive, detailed map of the United Provinces of Holland, in wash colour. There is a superb title cartouche in the form of a galleon in full sail. Many place names have been underlined in manuscript. Size: 275 x 500 mm. Fair condition. minor split to lower centrefold. Some grubby marks.
