Decorative cartouch, compass, and a Table of References. John Stow's "Survey Of London" was first published in 1598-9. The survey extended to include London and Westminster in their entirety, capturing London between Restoration and 18th-century developments. John Strype was responsible for the collection of materials for the text of the fifth and sixth editions of 1720 and 1754 and new maps were engraved. These ward plans provide some of the most attractive and detailed maps of the City and its parts.
