John Cary was a London based map seller, engraver, publisher, and a maker of excellent scientific instruments and globes. This excellent map of The West Indies is also illustrates Central America, the extreme northern reaches of South America and The Gulf of Mexico. Cary's map are known for their accuracy and their attention to detail. Published in Cary's 'New Universal Atlas'. Size: 535 x 630 mm. Fair condition. Foxing and slight creasing to the centrefold. some minor staining to right extremem margin.
