Signed and dated lower right, "Prudie 21". Prudence Chimutuwah (b.1989) is an emerging contemporary visual artist who is fascinated with collage. Her work mainly depicts women and the world they dominate or are subordinate to. She is inspired by her gender and how it adapts to the ever changing socio-economic environment. She hopes for her work to narrate, describe, and inform the audience on the evolving world of women in patriarchal societies. As Chimutuwah has explained: "My work is informed and inspired by the everyday life of women; their economic aspirations, desire for spirituality, need for attention, and energy for hustling. Women are the incubators of society - what is within them is nurtured and multiplied hence my personal affiliation as a creative woman. I hope to deposit positive energy in women of my generation and beyond. Art usually borrows from the environment and with the environment what you put in is what you get. I always work hard to make my environment pleasant because I am also the environment". Acrylic with collage and varnish on canvas. Sheet size: 70 x 60 cm. Excellent condition.
