This view was taken about half way down the winding road, looking over to the Town. The Indiamen are seen at anchor below, towards the right, and on the summit of Ladder Hill are the Barracks. The opposite rock is part of Mount Rupert. Published in Wathen's "A Series of Views Illustrative of the Island of St.Helena". Size: 295 x 240 mm. Aquatint engraving in original colour. Good condition.
