Fascinating map, showing different mappings of the coast of north east Asia. The main map is fairly accurate, with Kamchatka, and Yesso (Hokkaido) in place, but it still has the imaginary island 'Terre de la Compagnie'that appeared on so many maps of the time. The two inset maps are versions of earlier maps of the same coast. Copper engraving. Later colour. Size: 36 x 29 cm. (14 x 11½ inches)
