A dramatic and striking chart of the British Isles, from John Pine's The Tapestry Hangings of the House of Lord's depicting some of the naval engagements fought between the English Fleet and the Spanish Armada in 1588. John Pine's chart is based upon the earlier work by Robert Adams, published in 1588. A wonderfully decorative example of this map, which rarely appears on the market. Size: 430 x 655 mm. Copperplate engraving. Some minor repairs to wormholes in the lower right corner, otherwise in very good condition.
