Attractive bird's eye view of Freiburg from nearby hilltop. This town plan was one of many engravings originally published in Merian's Theatrum Europaeum that were incorporated into later editions of Gottfried's chronicles. Copper engraving. Uncoloured. Darkened centrefold and top edge, but a clean and crisp impression. Very good condition. Size: 350 x 220 mm.
