A detailed map of the county, with compass rose, and key to the hundreds. Title in decorative cartouche. Morden's maps for Camden's Britannia were a landmark in British mapmaking. In response to public demand, the smaller Morden atlas, The Magna Britannia was published in 1702. These small Morden maps are now much harder to find than the larger, better known maps upon which they are based. Copper engraving. Later colour. Size: 21.5 x 16.5 cm. (8 x 6 inches).
