From the middle of 1760s, London Magazine started to publish a series of maps of Wards and Parishes of the City of London. They became important historical records and were used and referenced extensively later. The same plates were used later in the Noorthouck's History of London (1722) with no modification except for the upper margin. These maps are beautiful, with decorative vignettes, views of famous buildings and coats of arms pertaining to the particular area depicted.
