View of Marburg, central Germany, with its magnificent castle, scene of the famous conference between Martin Luther and Zwingli in 1529. His town plan was one of many engravings originally published in Merian's Theatrum Europaeum that were incorporated into later editions of Gottfried's chronicles. Copper engraving. Uncoloured.
