Handsome map of part of Germany to the west of the Ruhr. Scale at lower right within strapwork border. Title cartouche at upper right, with text in Latin below. Matthaus Quad was a German cartographer based in Cologne, which, at the time was the centre for German cartography. This map is from his Fascilus Geographicus. It was printed by Johannes Bussemacher. Copper engraving. Original outline colour. Size: 31 x 22.5 cm. (12 x 9 inches).
