The original illustration, signed by the artist, for one of the scenes in Mary Russell Mitford's "Our Village", which comprised a series of sketches of country life. Brock's illustrations form part of the "Series of English Idylls" published by J. M. Dent & Co. The scene depicted shows Robert, a boy from the village, watching an artist painting a particular view to which the boy has led him. Original pen-and-ink watercolour illustration on card (367 269 mm). Presented in an attractive washline mount and gold leaf frame. Margins marked, but image clean and in very good condition.
