A plan of the town of Payta, currently Paita, in Northwestern Peru. From 1578 to 1588, Paita was the Spanish capital of the northwestern Peruvian coast until is was necessary to relocate it to Piura because of the pirate attacks. Size: 272 x 432 mm Copper engraving. Very good condition.
