The Naturalist's Miscellany, distinguished by the refined hand-coloured copperplate engravings by F.P.Nodder and the astute naturalist's writing by George Shaw, was a diverse naturalists' compendium identified by seventeenth and eighteenth century naturalists spanning the globe. Many of nature's most fascinating and unusual creatures were discovered during this period. A wonderful print depicting the Beating Ptinus or Death-Watch.
