USD$290

Description

The original illustration, signed by the artist, for the scene depicting Master Harry declaring his various childish fantasies to his parents. The reference is to the play Douglas by the 18th-century Scottish writer John Home, the best known passage from which reads, "My name is Norval; on the Grampian Hills / My father feeds his flocks; a frugal swain, / Whose constant cares were to increase his store. / And keep his only son, myself, at home." Original pen and ink illustration on card (350 x 243 mm). Faint marks to edges, slight toning to top right corner. In excellent condition. Presented in a black frame with conservation mount and glass.
