The main view is of Appenzell, but in the top right corner is a view of the town of Herissaw. In the top right of the Appenzell view is the town's coat of arms, depicting a bear standing on its hind legs. The views of both towns are beautifully detailed, showing houses, churches and trees, and with the rivers labelled in both. The Appenzell view includes a dramatic backdrop of towering mountains contrasting with the tiny people, cattle and horses shown within the view.
