A satisfying, detailed and large scale map of France, by Herman Moll, who was a the German émigré to London. Each separate province is coloured in outline. Moll combines a wealth of information via comprehensive tables, flanking the map, with exacting cartographic information within the map itself. A very large and extremely decorative and emblematic title cartouche is to be found in the left corner. 2 sheets joined. Size: 620 x 990 mm. Some skilful paper restoration to map folds and to worm holes, some staining. Very good condition.
