Signed lower right. W H Caffyn was an artist and illustrator whose work included the First World War poster 'Come along, boys! Enlist to-day'. This illustration was done for the publishers J M Dent. Emile Vandervelde (1866 - 1938) Belgian statesman, born at Ixelles. He studied law at the Free University of Brussels and became doctor of laws in 1885 and doctor of social science in 1888.
