Original copperplates made for the four-colour separation process used to produce the final image published opposite p. 100 in the book. This remarkable survival shows Nielsen's painstaking artistic technique in building up the four-colour process (Rackham used a three-colour process) to produce the rich and complex illustrations for his deluxe books.
Four engraved copperplates, each measuring approximately 183 x 134 mm, mounted in a row, together with a full-colour pull of the image, framed and glazed.
Traces of green patina where copper has slightly oxidised, else fine condition.
