The original illustration, with the artist's notes to the printer in pencil, for the heading for the first part of Mary Russell Mitford's "Our Village", which comprised a series of sketches of country life. Brock's illustrations form part of the "Series of English Idylls" published by J. M. Dent & Co. Original pen-and-ink illustration on card (124 x 182 mm), in a wash-line mount. Margins marked, with a small chip to bottom right corner. In very good condition.
