This beautiful plate has two maps, above, one of 'Abessinia and the Adjacent Countries' and below, 'Map of Part of Central America.' The maps are surrounded by vignettes showing views, the people, birds and animals of the regions. Title at top centre. Fullarton's Royal Illustrated Atlas of Modern Geography was the last highly decorative atlas published in England, and the maps are much sought after. Steel engraving. Original colour.
