A superb and most attractive sepia aquatint view of Coni and surrounds in Piedmont at the foot of The Alps in Italy by Albanis Beaumont (1753-1810). Printed by T. Bensley, and published for William Faden in London. Beaumont was born in Piedmont, but naturalised in England. Between the years 1787 and 1806 he published a great number of views in the south of France, in the Alps, and in Italy. This print is from a scarce book of Travels through The Maritime Alps from Italy to Lyons, across the Col de Tende by way of Nice, Provence, Languedoc etc. Prints of this calibre and of this region are uncommon and desirable.
