An extremely attractive and decorative map of The English Channel, showing the entire south coast of England and the north western regions of France - from Nantes to Bruges. The map is littered with compass roses and rhumb lines, and features a large and very ornate title cartouche in the lower right corner, with horses, cherubs, soldiers and King Neptune seated in his chariot. There is plenty of detail within the body of the map, especially along coastal areas. A very fine map indeed. Size: 525 x 635 mm. Copperplate engraving with original outline colour. Slight water staining to lower border, minor toning and soiling, otherwise in very good condition
