Dr. John Hill, actor, dramatist, botanist doctor and prolific author was one of the more colourful figures of eighteenth century London. His Eden, or a Complete Body of Gardening, was one of the most beautiful illustrated botanical books of its time. Size: 390 x 230 mm. Copper engraving. Early colour. Slight showthrough of text from verso. Waterstain at top edge not affecting plate. Very good condition.
