A detailed and skilled engraving of the new Lord Mayor's house (called The Mansion House) built in 1752 for the then Lord Mayor, Sir Crispin Gascoigne. This wonderful engraving was executed 2 years after this by the notable Dutch publisher of books, periodicals and atlases; Isaac Tirion. The Lord Mayor of London is an office that dates back to the final years of the 12th century, and it is the legal title for person who is the head of The City of London Corporation.
